You and Your Highness

Warm greetings to everyone who visits this blog!

Lately, I have been MIA from posting on this blog but good thing is I am finally back with some amazing poem(s). You'd enjoy all of them, trust me.

So, for Today I have a poem. It's the one, I have been procrastinating since so long but finally completed it last night.

Go Ahead and read the poem, context is towards the end.

You and Your Highness

You and your highness,
I and my curses.

Your game, your rules.
You win and I lose.

My hands, your crimes.
Your lies and my truth.

Your stories from the South of Africa,
my mind like a barren land of Sahara.

Your cries and Your sighs,
my muffled voice and my proofs.

Your emotions and your lullabies
my hurt and my sleepless nights.

Your love for blood and flesh,
my tethered wings and bruised knees.

You and your Highness.
I and my Curses.

Your game, your rules.
You win, I lose.

Your sympathy and your blames.
My dignity and my claims.

Your incessant chatter as you lit a cigarette,
my silence as I breathed in the smoke.

Your words laced with hate and disgust,
my words laced with arrogance and pain.

Your hollow eyes and your huge faces,
my solemn features wanting to be seen.

You and your highness
I and my curses.

Your name on the piece of paper,
my names written all over the murals.

Your wise moves on the game board,
my naive moves in the play of life.

Your game, your rules
you cheat and you win.

Soon you'll forget all your
wicked tricks and your names.

Your wicked smiles will
turn into the saddest frowns.

You will fall from the pedestal
and won't find your way back up the cliff.

Your name will be wiped off all the
papers that once screamed of it.

You and your highness would drown
before the kingdom that saw you rise.

This poem is written in a very symbolic manner. I have been experimenting alot with symbolicism and imagery lately. There are some direct clues and some needs decoding, if you read this poem twice or thrice some lines from it seems to stand out and can make you wonder. Writing this poem felt like catharsis 'cause finally I was able to write all that I was feeling. This poem is about more than one person and as I said, all the clues are hiding right in front of your eyes.

Have a great time reading this poem and finding all the clues.
