I Dreamt, We Were Happy

Warm Greetings everyone.
First things first, thank you for the response on the previous blog. It really took all of me to write about such an issue with depth and research. So, I am grateful for all your love.

Alright, now let's come back to the poem I am here to share with you. This poem is about a person who is left behind after the ending of their relationship. They feel confused, heartbroken and can not move on. I took inspiration from music yet again and trust me, it worked like magic.

So, Go ahead and read it. I love this one btw.

I Dreamt, We Were Happy

Honey I don't know how
I have survived this long without you.

Once there was love and dreams,
now there's just pain and a lot of screams.

We used to kiss in the club over the loud music,
we felt the happiest and grinned ear to ear.

I was happy,
and I guess so were you?

Our love was like a rainbow-hued
bubble floating on the horizon.

The best times of my life
were the ones I spent by your side.

I didn't realise that I was dreaming
until you decided to shatter me like a glass.

I gave you my everything,
but I guess it just wasn’t enough for you.

You and I
were fine the night before.

We were in heaven wrapped
in each other's warmth.

I think I was dreaming until I started to
spend my days waiting for you to come back.

Hanging at the door with swollen eyes,
waiting for you to change your mind.

You took my everything from me,
I gave you my heart, body and soul.

I didn't know that one day your hands will
no longer be there to hold my heart.

I held you when there was no one for you,
why wasn't I ever enough for you?

I guess I was dreaming all the while
because we were never happy.

I was happy, you weren't
and now one of us will never be.

It's been six summers
since the day you left me.

I still think about what parts of me made
you hate me enough to leave me all alone.
